The Dominican Republic is a very beautiful sea-side tourist destination slightly southwest of Florida on an island shared fifty percent with Haiti. But unlike its closest neighbor, the country has enjoyed mostly peace and calm recently. This writer believes the Dominican population on the island and in the United States are creative, sensitive and peace-loving. The country has done a lot to improve their society and domestic economy. President Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona spoke up for democracy and patterned "peace" eloquently at the United Nations.
