The minimum you need to know
Mongolia is one of the founding places of Buddhism after Tibetan Taoism spread there in the 16th century. Nearly a third of the nation's men were Buddhist Monks centuries ago. So the country has a history of pacifism and sincere desire for peace with all other nations. Buddhists believe that we are all part of one interconnected whole. Therefore, we receive precisely the same treatment that we give to other people since we are nearly connected to them. So Buddhists strive for perfect peace towards everyone regardless of how they may behave. Buddhism remains the majority religion there today with a minority of people subscribing to spirituality instead of a specific religion. Probably they have been influenced by Buddhism as well. Mongolia is among the most peaceful countries on earth as a result, and does not need peace talks for improving relations with surrounding or even faraway nations.
Historically a member of the Soviet Union, the country is an independent but still very friendly and even interconnected state to Russia and China. Mongolia depends very much upon them for trade because it's a non-coastal country that only additionally borders Kazakhstan. Mongolia's relationship with them is perfectly safe. Mongolia probably has a similar state doctrine of peace to China's.
