Fijia is a small nation comprised of over three hundred islands near Australia mostly formed by volcanoes in the South Pacific Ocean. The largest islands there are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Fiji was colonized by the United Kingdom until gaining its independence in 1970. The country considers itself a democracy however has a modern history of coups d'état. The country is very well represented at the United Nations by current President Katonivere.
