Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font gave a wonderful and philosophically profound speech at the United Nations in which he described member states as similar to migratory birds, separating from time to time and then realigning together - a beautifully peaceful metaphor for global diplomacy.


Chile believes the Security Council should include Brazil, India and at least one country from Africa.


Chile is non-aligned and maintains friendly optimistic global relations. The country has grown significantly through immigration, and is home to countless Venezuelans. Both Chile and neighboring Argentina therefore are insisting that the Venezuelan people regain their right to work for any country, to stem the flow of migration. Chile entered into a peace treaty in 1904 with bordering Bolivia that remains in place today.


Chile is a signatory to the Arctic peace treaty.
