The minimum you must know

Peru is a western coastal country in South America between Ecuador and Bolivia that gained its independence from Spain in 1821, and that's known for ancient tourist areas, such as the fascinating Machu Picchu city unearthed at the top of the Andes moutains. Peru is still considered a developing country because it used to be one of the poorest in the world. But Peru has advanced quickly to have nearly the living standards enjoyed throughout Europe and North America. Peru might even surpass lagging so-called "fully developed" countries in future decades. Advancement has created democratic political stability this century.
