The minimum you need to know

The Republic of Seychelles (similar to "seashells") is the smallest and least populated countries in Africa. But it's also one of the most beautiful places in the world. Far away from the African mainland, it's a well known tourist destination and trading route because of its location in the India Ocean an equal distance between India and Madagascar.

79th Session of the United Nations

The United Kingdom and France claim that Seychelles was uninhabited when they discovered the island in the 16th century. They occupied Seychelles until its independence in 1976. The population there prize their independence but are also perfectly comfortable with tourists from Europe and the United States. The country is obviously at peace with all other nations.
